Even though Hakeem’s argument is 100% correct (especially a country should celebrate end of the war), I guess MR is playing Machiavelli in here. Majority of Sri Lankans are sheep – we are not very intelligent people. According to Machiavelli, a prince must have some sort of lavish celebration once in a while to show off his power and victory. Also he said, prince should move his palace in to newly captured area.. well, I don’t know how much of that MR going to do.
