Mig-29 Fraud... another record by Rajapaksha & brothers...

Prabhakaran once said that Sinhalese people forgets anything within 7 days of time. When Sripathi bought up the question about the Mig-29 fraud it was the main topic in the country for some days. Then the world cup cricket season started and our pepole had nothing else to concentrate other than cricket.

The United National Party says the MIG 29 deal that is about to take place might lead to a massive fraud as the statements made by the president and the defense secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse are contradicting each other.

The charges are being leveled against the government by head of the UNP media unit Lakshman Kiriella and UNP MP Sagala Rathnayake.

They say that the public wants to know who is lying. The UNP MPs point out that on the 22nd of March the defense secretary in a statement released to the defense web had said that the air force does not need the high tech MIG 29 air craft but last week when the president met the editors at temple trees he has said that the MIG 27 air craft should be gradually removed from usage and replace them with MIG 29. He has also said that this decision was not arrived at after the LTTE air strikes.

Addressing the media at the opposition leaders office Kiriella questioned why tenders were not called in to purchase the MIG air craft. He said this is why they suspect that a massive fraud might be taking place behind the curtain.

He said according to a complaint lodged to the Bribery Commission by former ministers Mangala Samaraweera and Sripathi Suriarachchi a fraud of 600 million has taken place when purchasing the MIG 27's one would not be able to even think what would the sum be this time around.

Sagala Rathnayake speaking here said that the Rajapakse brothers are paving their way for another massive scale fraud this time around through the MIG 29 deals.

Rathnayake revealed the details and specifications pertaining to the MIGs and the LTTE air craft. He said the LTTE air craft which are SLIM-Z- 143 light air craft could be used for things like taxi rides and primary security observations. The maximum speed of such an air craft would be 260 kilo meters. A MIG 29 could travel up to a maximum of 2,400 km. A light air craft could fly 4,000 m at the top most while a MIG could fly 18,000 meters high. A light air craft could rise 8 meters per second while a MIG could rise 330 meters per second.

Sagala Rathnayake questions whether a Mercedes Benz is necessary to race a bullock cart.

Army & Navy commander gone dumb ???

Considering recent war news, we can see that only the Airforce commander is speaking about the current war situation other than Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, The President & the Prime minister. The Airforce commander was also talking about the Rs. 600 million fraud in buying Mig-29. And he was speachless in 2nd attack on the world cup final day. Treasurer of the United National Party, former minister Thilak Karunarathne questions how to be engaged in an accurate war when the heads of the Army and Navy are not talking to each other.

He has brought up this question during a discussion with the "Lankadeepa" newspaper.

When questioned Karunarathne, based on what he made such a statement, and he replied saying "Anurudha Rathwatte wanted to be prince Sapumal more that triumphing war. Commander Sarath Fonseka wants him to be identified as a hero. I will end this talk from here, but I will disclose the details in the future".

However Karunarathne said that he whole heartedly hope that security forces will be able to over come the LTTE and triumph this war.

"The war is not being carried out properly. The war is being conducted on the needs of some people like Gothabaya and Sarath Fonseka. This is not fair on the part of the soldiers. The STF was engaged in operations in the east. When its head Prasanna Silva was asked to fight to capture Mannar he said that if they enter such an operation many would die because the moral of the soldiers were down after being inside bunkers and not being able to see their families. Then the army commander has replied saying "I don't care, I want to win the war." Then Silva had said that he cannot send the soldiers to die to which the commander has replied asking him to resign immediately" Karunarathne added.

Due to the lame reason that Lt. Genaral Sarath Fonseka has been appointed Army commander by the president, he does not have to protect all the bullshit done by the government. He should act according to his own heart. Because Gotabhaya Rajapakshe was just Colonel, and Lt. General should be aware that Colonel is a ranka far below Lt. General. Same goes for Wise Admiral Wasanatha Karannagoda.

"The Cat who shit on a rock"

There's an old saying "The Cat who shit on a rock" which means doing something discreet but in the end you find it you can't undo it or hide from the world. Funny our president has to face the same situation just after one week of his proud announce that Sri Lanka doesn't need any foreign aids to proceed with the development projects. Now in Jordan President has asked for aid from the G11 summit.

Addressing the G11 summit the president said "terrorism threats, rising price of fuel and even natural disasters are affecting countries which are in the range of middle income families. This is amazing. Therefore we don't have the opportunity of getting aid like the poor countries. We are not among those countries who are in the middle class income families. Neither do we have the resources to go for the development goals. What we ask for are the tools we need to reach the productive goals.

We need aid to introduce new programmes for the rural community. We need technical and financial support to imp0lement those programmes".

The president also touched on the terrorism saying that "Our aim is to defeat terrorism. We need to save the people who have become the victims of war. We are standing to p hold human rights and democracy. Terrorism has to be condemned every where, every time. We should unite to erase off terrorism from the globe. It is poor countries like us that are facing the real consequences of terrorism."

This is a good lesson to people who dances and drinks for the "Cock & Bull" stories of this government. I hope even one will open his eyes to the real world, so that my blog will be useful.

Another Consecutive World Record by MR...!!!

Proving the fact that President is having the time of his life here's another story which will wake up the poor people who voted President Mahinda Rajapaksha.

It is being reported that president Mahinda Rajapakse who has a habit of traveling around the world with gigantic delegations has taken a delegation of 92 with him to the G11 summit in Jordan.

The delegation comprises of ministers Rohitha Bogollagama, Fowzie, G.L. Peries, Keheliya Rambukwella, Salinda Dissanayake, Mahinda Amaraweera, Susantha Punchinilame, Chief minister of the southern province Shan Wijayalal, Deputy ministers Fais Mustafa, C.A. Suriarachchi and 12 other officials. From the presidential secretariat secretary Lalith Weeratunga, A.H.M. Aswar and Sajin Vaas is included in the delegation.

The first Lady, her doctor, three lady assistance for her, ten journalists, 8 from the foreign ministry and 10 other officials from various ministries have also been included in the delegation.

It is also been reported that 22 businessmen are also included among them are 2 heads of beer companies, which makes the total number 92.

The number is however expected to rise further as several officials are flying up and down to Jordan to obtain secret information regarding certain issues including the selling of some shares to a Malaysian company.

The worse thing is President takes more crossed over MPs than MPs from SLFP in these journeys. May be that has something to do with "Mahinda Chinthanaya", something like "love your neighbour".
