Dirty, dirtier & dirtiest politics in the whole wide world...

Sri Lanka has come to an era where no one who’s born in this island will ever be proud of. This is mainly due to the selfishness and the greed of power of our dear politicians. The politicians have never been more disgusting compared to any one before the 2004 General elections. I totally agree and anybody agrees with me that the former president has destroyed all the chances of “getting up” of this country. That era made a hell out of this country, and now the successors of that dark era are playing the devil dances on that same ground which they were given at the loss of their previous rulers’ power.

To be honest, President Rajapaksha was a big hope of the country’s poor people who were always cheated by the current ruling party or simply all the governments which came to power with the SLFP. The clear example is Hambanthota, Matara & Galle. During the Tsunami disaster on December 2004, many of the people who suffered & lost their property were in these three districts. They’re still spending their lives in refugee camps. During the Presidential election, what they had in their minds would be “No matter what’s wrong or right, Mahinda is one of our men”. Despite the fact that they were still suffering, they voted for “their man” whom they considered to be the only hope this country has.

But politics is becoming dirtier by every day. The worst thing is even the Commanders of the three forces which are highly honoured by Sri Lankans are playing the fool & saying “cock & bull” stories to innocent people in this country who have no idea what’s really happening. Whether you agree or not President visited Barbados to simply get an ugly political benefit so that our Cricket loving people will forget the current situation for some time and to reconstruct the President’s image which is now at a poor state. I think the Sri Lankan cricket team deserves more than this. I personally enjoy the fact that it’s better we lose to Australia or else President Rajapaksha would simply take the advantage of appearing before the country as the “President who won the World cup for Sri Lanka”. Just like he’s doing on Poya days and Sinhala & Hindu New Year celebrations, broadcasting what he’s doing to show that he’s a Genuine Sinhalese & a Buddhist. No president, even Chandrika has gone to a lower level like this in the history of Sri Lankan politics.

You decide whether I am right or wrong…
