The "horn" or the "ear" ???

There's an old saying in sinhala, saying "The horn that came last is better than the ear that came first". Anura Bandaranaike who has been the opposition leader, Speaker of Parliament, and a MP for more than two decades has been defeated by Mr. Karu Jayasuriya who's still 7 years old as a MP.

UNP parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya who joined the government recently has been appointed as the Chairman of the Gampaha district coordinating committee removing Minister Anura Bandaranaike from the post.

The appointment has been made by President Mahinda Rajapakse. This has been informed to the Gamapha office in writing by the presidential secretariat. Meanwhile Chief minister Reginald Cooray has been appointed as the Co-chairman.

Accordingly the committee will meet under the patronage of Jayasuriya on the 1st of June. The details of the meeting has been informed to the relevant members of the committee by a letter issued with the signature of Karu Jayasuriya.
