Sri Lanka government Chief Whip Jeyaraj Fernandopulle said in the parliament yesterday (21) that the government has decided to devolve power within the framework of unitary state.
The Minister expressed these observations in response to criticism raised by People's Liberation Front (JVP) Propaganda Secretary Vimal Weerawansa on the work of the All Party Representative Committee (APRC). Minister Fernanopulle reiterated that the final solution to the north east problem would be within the frame of the unitary state despite the deliberations of the APRC.
The MPs of the United National Party (UNP) and Tamil National Alliance (TNA) protested the Minister�s statement.
Although the news has been published by the Chief Government whip, we must be aware of the fact that Mr. Fernandopulle has been named a "Political Clown" by the president himself. So, what he says may not correctly represent the decision of the government. Its up to you to decide...
